The BabelFish Web Service is hosted by XMethods (http://www.xmethods.com). The service uses AltaVista"s translation software and is exposed using SOAP::Lite for Perl. After modifying the WSDL file in a way that made it useable in .NET, an ASP.NET client was written to utilize the service. The service accepts the desired translation mode and text to translate, and returns the translated version of the text.
